About the Registration Pack
CQC guidelines say...
- Until instructed to register under the new system, adult social care providers who want to register a new service or change or vary their current registration under the Care Standards Act 2000, should continue to use the forms in this section.
- From 1 October 2010, a new registration system is being introduced for adult social care providers under the Health and Social Care Act 2008. All adult social care providers that provide regulated activities must be registered with us in accordance with the new regulations. We will advise each provider of when they will be required to make their registration application and in which timeframe. Find out how to apply for the new registration system.
The Registration Pack has been created to offer support to organisations who are seeking registration of a new care home or home care service.
The pack consists of a subāset of between 40 and 60 (dependent on version) documents from the full QCS Care Quality Management System. Exactly the same high quality of content and customisation which distinguishes the full QCS CMS from other systems is included, except that the range of content is cut down simply to support the registration process, to minimise the cost and reduce the financial risk of not achieving registration.
The Registration Pack can be upgraded to the full CMS at any time in the first four months of the annual subscription period by paying the difference in price. We recommend that this upgrade take place immediately on registration in order to provide the user with the full suite of documentation which assures a smooth running, fully compliant, and high quality service which meets the ongoing operational requirements of your registration authority. The full CMS system provides documentation to keep your service compliant with all relevant legislation, not just the legislation required for registration. This includes employment law, health and safety regulations, food hygiene regulations and all other legislation which impinges on a care business. The full CMS system also provides users with a full quality assurance system, designed to recognised international quality standards.
The QCS service includes a Help Desk for advice and support in implementing the QCS system. In the case of new registration customers, the Help Desk is available to provide advice on completion of the registration process itself.
